My Philosophy My
philosophy on teaching health and physical education is for the students to
learn the importance of health and physical activity as it relates to a
lifelong regimen. It is important that students are challenged, have fun, and
improve while in a positive and safe environment. Students need to engage in
lifetime physical activity of intensity and duration needed to maximize health
benefits. Focus will be on developing new skills and knowledge of different
activities while promoting the concepts of sportsmanship and fair play.
Students will learn to be responsible, work as a team and to respect their
classmates and teaches. The students will be actively involved in choosing a
wide variety of activities which will have a direct influence on their
motivation and success. Participation in daily classes will help students
maintain a healthy lifestyle physically, emotionally, cognitively and socially
for the rest of their lives. Students must learn why it is important to develop
and maintain adequate levels of physical activity and fitness. Lastly, students
must develop the knowledge base and skills needed to plan and execute personal
activity programs throughout their lives.
